 Abstract: Cybersecurity is arguably one of the most pressing threats for business today and yet cybersecurity often remains an after-thought. DevOps has fundamentally changed the way we deliver software products and services. In this talk we look at how the principles underlying DevOps can be used to deliver secure products without sacrificing speed to market. How we can make security an integral part of how we build and deliver products.

Bio: Sean D. Mack is a transformational technology leader, author, speaker, and former CIO & CISO at Wiley. He is the author of the DevSecOps Playbook and CIO 100 award recipient. Sean is a visionary and innovative technology leader with a history of driving global business strategy and transformation. He has extensive background leading DevOps, infrastructure, enterprise applications, security, and desktop services.

Sean has led global teams across a wide range of companies from financial companies like Experian to innovative technology companies like Etsy. He has also worked extensively in the education technology and publishing industry with companies such as Pearson, Scholastic, and Braven (a non-profit technology education start-up). Throughout his career he has held a variety of technology leadership ranging from Vice President of Operations and Applications for Pearson Education to CIO for a start-up in the streaming media space.

Sean has his Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of California and a Masters in Business Administration from Seattle University.

Sean was born and raised in New York City and has lived in various places around the world including Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco and the UK. He currently lives in New York with his wife and eleven year old daughter. He likes fitness including martial arts and skiing. He rides a Triumph Thruxton and plays upright bass (although, admittedly, not well).
